Parental Kidnapping

Parental kidnapping is a terrible act.  While devastating to the parent whose children have been taken, it is even more devastating to the children involved.  It is not just a thumbing of the nose by the kidnapping parent to the other parent, it is a total disregard of the presiding court's time and effort, an affront to law and justice.

If you are contemplating kidnapping your children, DON'T.  If your children are being abused, or you suspect they are, contact the appropriate local authorities.  [I can Help!]  However, please don't use this as an excuse to harass your ex-spouse.  In the long term, doing so will backfire on you.   I was the victim of such accusations, and only in retrospect can I find dark humor in such stupidity.

This is not a comprehensive list of authorities on the subject, but at least it's a start.  I'll admit to a preponderance of Michigan authorities, but that's where I had to fight my worst battles.  Likewise I do not endorse any of these sites.  My Mississippi attorney?  My Michigan Attorney?  Thought you'd never ask:

Books about Parental KidnappingBooks

From writing my own story, I know truth and fiction can be difficult to differentiate.  So there are some "classic" novels on the subject included in my primarily non-fiction list.   Not all books are in print, but most suppliers are good about searching.   Likewise, your public library system may have the books.
